The stories of the Bible clearly had a great impact on Nico Bulder. In the last few years of his life he worked almost exclusively on biblical scenes. This was also a result of his cooperation with the poet Jan Boer. He was going to provide twelve biblical scenes for their joint project. Unfortunately, only three were finished prior to his death although sketches were made for most of the other scenes. Many other biblical illustrations were made by Nico Bulder earlier in his career. These include paintings as well. The paintings of the Apocalypse are especially worth your attention.
However, Nico Bulder was also very interested in other classical stories and myths. We have included that art in this gallery as well. Therefore, we named this gallery “Saints, Myths & Biblical Art”.
